The 40th annual Crew Classic starts in San Diego
from 6 April, 2013 and ends 7 April. Racing begins at 7:30 a.m. each day. It ends
at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday and 3:00 p.m. on Sunday.
The event will be held at the picturesque Mission Bay and
Beaches. Mission Bay Park is one of the largest man-made parks of the world
with 4600 acre aquatic playground surrounded by 27 miles of twisty shoreline. It
is the best place to enjoy water sports of any kind from paddle boarding to
kite surfing. It offers a year-around water wonderland for vacationers to
explore the beauty of San Diego.
The rowers all over the world join the Crew Classic in SanDiego as the Crew Classic offers the festival mood for the people aging from 14
to 84. Rowers compete in over 100 races in various divisions. There is music, a
trade show and alumni tents in the event.
The Crown Point Shores on Mission Bay hold the event.
Ticket prices $15. But for the active military personnel and
children under 12, tickets are free.
A plenty of rental shops in the beach offers you everything
like surfboards, kayaks, jet skis, bikes etc. with food and beverages to have a
barbeque with your family. Alcohol is no allowed on the beach. But at night you
can mingle in the many restaurants or night clubs in the area.
Bring your whole family to enjoy the 40 year-old regatta. Enjoy
the surfing, sailing, kite-boarding or plan a leisurely picnic along the grassy
playground surrounding Ocean Beach.
